Star: 18-11-2000-SHAH ALAM Bandar Klang assemblyman Teng Chang Khim logded a police report yesterday claiming he was slapped by Selat Klang assemblyman Datuk Zakaria @ Zainal Mohd Deros and punched by the latter's aide at the state assembly building on Monday. Teng was accompanies by Parti keADILan Nasional youth chief Ezam Mohd. Nor, Hulu Klang assemblyman Mohamad Azmin Ali, state PAS deputy head Mohd. Norman Toha and some 15 opposition front supporters. In the report, Teng, 37, said the incident occurred at about 11.05 am on November 13 while he was having a drink at the lounge for state assemblymen. He said Zakaria confronted him in a loud tone saying, "Next time I dont want Bandar Klang to talk on halal haram." Teng said he replied by saying"Why can't I debate on kilang haram? It is the Government who said it is haram." Teng said he got angry and walked towards Zakaria and demanded an apology but the UMNO assemblyman slapped his face. Hitting his nose and specticacles. "I tried to protect myself as the other assemblymen separated the two of us." He added. Teng said he returned to sitat the sofa while keeping watch on Zakaria who was still trying to lunge foward although the other assemblymen restrained him. During the commotion, Teng said an unidentified Malay man standing over a meter away from him punched him in the face and ran away.
