No one above the law- AG
Mohtar Abdullah, supposedly the AG of Malaysia remarked that 'no one is above the law'
when commenting on the other pending Anwar's cases. It is also quite
appropriate to remind him that such statement also applies to the maker. He
himself is also not above the law and should be bold enough to face the wrath of the
law when he finishes his term as AG and hopefully diminishes into obscurity.
As
an AG, Mohtar himself is not free from abusing and misusing his office. Among his
acts in assuming office was to drop the corruption charges against Omar Chin,
brother of the notorious Chief Justice namely Eusoff Chin, and to stop the ACA
investigation into the corruption allegations against former Lord President, Hamid
Omar. Well these are acts which constitute offences under the Penal Code of
perverting public justice. Malaysians, I am sure will not forget Mohtar's role
in the conspiracy to charge and convict Anwar. When the time comes, those
evidences would be forthcoming. Legal sources know Mohtar's and Eusoffe Chin's
infamous behind the scene role in giving directives to Augustine Paul to ensure the
conviction of Anwar. Therefore it is not surprising that Mohtar once again is
clearing off Eusoff Chin from the so-called judicial misconduct. To be exact that judicial
misconduct is in fact a corrupt act for Eusoff not only went on holiday with Lingam but stupidly
chose to sit in judgment in cases in which Lingam is the interested party.
Mohtar's
comment that the AG chambers acted on ACA's and police recommendation when instituting
charges is laughfable. The ACA recommended Rafidah to be charged; why is she
running scot free now. The fact is Mohtar is only a puppet AG.
