DAP ASSIST PAS IN SANGGANG
The DAP has formed a special
campaign committee to assist PAS in the coming Sanggang by-election, headed by the
State Assemblyman of Triang, Leong Ngah Ngah. Leong (also CEC member and State
Secretary of Pahang DAP). Leong will be assisted by the National Assistant Organising
Secretary Vincent Wu Him Ven.
Mr Lim Kit Siang, the National Chairman of DAP is
scheduled to lend his support to the BA's candidate on Nomination Day together with
other DAP leaders and members.
Ronnie Liu, DAP National Publicity Secretary says
that the party has sent out notices to all DAP branches to mobilise members and
supporters to help PAS in Sanggang. He says the DAP will try its best to explain to the Sanggang
voters why they should reject Barisan Nasional and give their support to Barisan
Alternative.
Members and supporters who wish to help PAS can contact Leong Ngah
Ngah at 019 9180489 /09 2554424 and Vincent Wu at 017 8862354. For accommodation in Sanggang,
they can contact Ng Kwi Ling at 010 9877103 or Woo Chee Wan at 019 2761931. Ronnie
Liu believes that the people in Sanggang by now would have a better understanding of
PAS, and they would not fall prey again to the propaganda of falsehood and politics of
fear launched by the MCA, Gerakan, MIC and UMNO during the last general elections.
He
believes the lifting of 10-year ban in pig farming and slaughtering imposed by the BN
government in Terengganu, coupled with the removal of tolls and quit rent, approval of
renovation plans for Buddhist temples and churches in Kuala Terengganu and other
positive policies have helped to quash the lies and distortions painted by the BN
parties. The PAS-led Terengganu Government has demonstrated that PAS is in fact very
sensitive to the needs and aspirations of the people, and certainly more caring and liberal
then the BN government.
Ronnie Liu hopes the Sanggang people would take the
opportunity to make a great contribution to Justice, Freedom, Democracy and Good
Governance by giving their undivided support to PAS on 1 April 2000. A vote for PAS is
a vote for the Barisan Alternatif. A victory for the Barisan Alternatif is a victory
for the Malaysian people.
